Episode 3 - Lee Cross

Our guest for Episode 3 of Sunflower Brew is Lee Cross, an attorney practicing in the Kansas City area and the new Secretary of the Johnson County Democratic Party.  Lee talks about social safety net issues like education and assistance to the poor and those with developmentally disabled children, and how proposed legislation in Topeka would have a dramatic negative impact.

We are presently experiencing technical difficulties with Episode 3. However, we did introduce a new element to the podcast: trivia questions.

The trivia question posed to us in Episode 3: Our guest, Lee Cross, is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Law School. UMKC is one of only seven law schools to count among their alumni a President of the United States (Truman) and a Supreme Court Justice (Charles Evans Whittaker). We want to know what the other six schools are.

You get two helpful hints:
1. 3 of the remaining 6 are Ivy League schools.
2. All of the remaining 6 are east of Kansas City.

The first guest on Sunflower Brew is Kyle Russell, Chairman of the Johnson County Democratic Party.  Kyle is a licensed attorney and ran in 2012 for the Kansas Senate.

Zach and Kyle discuss the November 2012 elections, the Democratic strategy to in more seats in Topeka, and attempt to ask the question "what's the matter with Kansas?"
